UniTesters is a beta testing agency based in the Philippines, working with clients anywhere. We put products in front of real people on the phones they already own, and we write down what happens.

Why the Philippines

Mid-range Android phones and unreliable mobile data are the conditions most of the world's users are actually on, and they are the conditions that break software in ways an office wifi network never will. Our testers are not simulating a difficult environment. They live in one.

English is a working language here, so tester feedback arrives in a form your developers can read without translation.

Testing beyond the Philippines

Most of our testers are here, and for most products that is the right answer. When it is not — you need users in a particular country, on a particular carrier, or in a particular profession — we recruit for it and quote separately. Tell us what the audience looks like and we will say honestly whether we can reach it.

How we work

Every tester submits daily: a checklist, a screenshot, and how long they used the product. We know which day each person covered and which they missed, and so will you. When somebody misses a day, the report says so rather than quietly averaging it away.

Defects come with reproduction steps, a severity, and a picture. A finding a developer cannot reproduce is not worth sending, so we do not send them.

What we will not tell you

That we found everything. Beta testing finds defects and usability problems; it does not prove the absence of others. Anybody who promises otherwise is selling something we would not buy either.
